As we head into the holiday season and you consider your charitable giving for the end of this taxable year, please keep the following in mind.
Stock Gift Reminder
IMPORTANT: If you are gifting stock to your donor advised fund, please call our office at 651.389.0300 and let us know. Having this information in advance will help us to process your gift efficiently and effectively. Without stock transfer information, CCF will not be able to deposit proceeds to your donor advised fund.
Grant Reminders
- The minimum grant amount is $200.
- Under IRS rules, you cannot make a grant for tuition for an individual, a membership, to fulfill a pledge, or to attend a charity event.
- All grantees are screened for tax status, allowable purpose, financial health, accountability/transparency, and alignment with Catholic social teaching.
Key Year-End Dates
- WED. DEC. 07
Submit donor advised fund grant recommendations before noon to ensure that your grants are sent by DEC. 31. - FRI. DEC. 09
Initiate mutual fund transfers by this date. - MON. DEC. 19
Initiate stock transfers prior to this date so that stock gifts can be received in CCF’s trading account by DEC. 31. - FRI. DEC. 30
Ensure that CCF receives cash gifts at our office by this date. If you plan to deliver a gift to our office, please call us at 651.389.0300 to let us know. - SAT. DEC. 31
Remember that contributions made by check to CCF must be dated and postmarked by the USPS no later than this date.
