This year, besides providing a snapshot of charitable assets and funds that CCF stewarded as of June 30, 2024, and grants distributed in fiscal year 2024, we provide a look at the growth in donor designated and donor advised funds specifically.

CCF had another strong financial year in fiscal year 2024. With 57 new funds opened, CCF now manages $667 million in assets.

Grantmaking Snapshot

CCF distributed a record $38.5M in grants to 1,165 nonprofits in fiscal year 2023. The number of grants totaled 4,309. The vast majority — 96 percent — were donor-directed, while the remaining 4 percent were directed by CCF. Ninety percent of grant dollars stayed in Minnesota, while 10 percent was distributed outside Minnesota. Eighty percent of grants went to Catholic nonprofits and institutions, and another 6 percent went to other faith-based organizations. CCF has distributed $288M since 1992.

Giving & Impact: FY19–FY24

How has giving and impact through donor advised funds and donor designated funds changed since 2019? One hundred two (102) new funds have opened in that time. More importantly, grants from these funds has increased to $23.3 million in FY24 — more than doubling impact of fiscal year 2019. This also comes with additional work for our staff, as these funds generated 1,304 more grants in FY24 than in FY19!
